New Delhi, August 6: MG Motors has collaborated with Reliance Jio to bring Jio Home Connectivity to all its future vehicles. MG Motor introduced its new E-Hub app ahead of the Windsor EV launch in India, which would connect around 80% of the chargers across India. The automobile company recently teased its new MG Windsor EV for the Indian market and said it would be launched soon. According to the reports, the upcoming electric car will be based on the Cloud EV available outside India.
MG Motor India announced that the upcoming MG Windsor EV would be “India’s first intelligent CUV.” Ahead of the Windsor EV launch, the British automobile company partnered with Reliance Jio to roll out Jio Home Connectivity and Jio Store on the car’s head unit. According to a report by CNBCTV-18, it would provide a seamless connection between the home entertainment systems and the electric vehicle. The E-Hub app launched by the automobile company would help streamline the charging process and integrate several networks on a single platform. Rajeev Chaba, Managing Director of JSW MG Motor India, confirmed that the company had launched a home-to-car connectivity by collaborating with the telecom giant Jio. He further said MG Motor would offer Jio Home Connectivity to all the future MG cars that follow after Windsor E Rajeev Chaba mentioned the need for the EV subsidy for shared mobility as well.
MG Windsor EV Specifications and Features (Expected)
MG Windsor EV will be launched in the Indian market soon and come with the Reliance Jio integration. The upcoming MG electric car may feature a 50.3 kWh battery, according to a report by Times of India. The report said that the announcement of this car was followed by the success of MG Comet EV and MG ZS EV. The MG Windsor EV is expected to sport sleek DRLs, dynamic alloy wheels, full-width LED light and an illuminated ‘MG’ company logo. The report highlighted that the car could have a maximum range of 360 km to 460 km based on the 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh battery packs, respectively. The global spec variant might be launched in India with a 134 hp motor and a 360 km range.
