Victorian COVID-19 Response Commander Jeroen Weimar says the northern suburbs are seeing a “cooling-off” in the number of COVID cases.
“The northern suburbs are seeing a continual reduction in the rate of increase – we’re really seeing a cooling-off there – in the number of cases,” Mr Weimar said during a media conference on Wednesday.
“We’ve seen this trend now for the last week or so.
He said there were 477 new cases in these suburbs, which is around a quarter of the day’s total.
“But that’s down by about a third from our high point last week, and I’d just like again to thank all the communities and all the organisations working with us in the northern suburbs.”
