LUCKNOW: UP governor Anandiben Patel Monday called for voting to be made “compulsory” as it “contributes to the country’s development and growth”.
Speaking this after voting in Ahmedabad’s Shilaj locality, the former Gujarat CM said: “Every voter must exercise the right to vote. Voting is necessary and important for the country. For this reason, voting ought to be compulsory. It will make the country successful. ” Anandiben added that voting being a right, every voter must “use it to make India the best”.
