Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has directed the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) administration to immediately transfer officers who have been stationed at the same divisional offices or headquarter for over three years. The decision aims to curb favoritism, vested interests, and inefficiencies within the MSRTC.
The directive was issued during a high-level meeting held to address concerns raised by MSRTC employees recently. The meeting was attended by MLAs Gopichand Padalkar and Sadabhau Khot, along with MSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director Vivek Bhimanwar, senior officials, and employee representatives.
MLA Padalkar raised concerns over officers remaining in the same positions for extended periods, leading to favoritism and discrimination among employees. Supporting this view, Minister Sarnaik instructed the MSRTC administration to take immediate action and implement necessary transfers to improve transparency and efficiency within the corporation.
In addition to the transfer directive, the meeting also addressed the financial demands of MSRTC employees. Minister Sarnaik assured the delegation that discussions would be held with the Chief Minister and both Deputy Chief Ministers after the conclusion of the legislative session to resolve economic issues raised by the employees.
Later in the day, Minister Sarnaik also met with a delegation led by MLAs Satyajit Tambe and Amol Khatal to discuss issues at the Sangamner bus station in Ahilyanagar district. The discussions included proposals to allocate additional land for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj memorial and ensure that buses on the Nashik-Pune highway make regular stops at the Sangamner bus station.
