With state board exams for Class X and XII cancelled, marks for students wishing to secure admission to higher classes on sports quota will be calculated on the basis of their performance in previous years.
While marks for Class X will be based on performance assessment of classes VIII and IX, students of Class XII will have to rely on their performance in sports in Class XI for admission to higher classes, according to the criteria released by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).

In a notification issued late on Friday evening, the MSBSHSE said that since no sporting events took place in 2020-21, the sports quota marks for Class X students will depend on their performance in sporting events in Class VIII and Class IX.
For Class XII students, their performance in sports in Class XI will be considered while calculating the marks, it added.
The applications should be sent by schools and junior colleges by June 21 to the district sports officer who will submit the list of eligible students and their marks to the concerned divisional board by June 25, said a notification issued by Ashok Bhosale, Secretary, MSBSHSE.
Meanwhile, the state board has also activated division-wise helplines for teachers who are facing problems in calculating marks of Class X students as per the assessment criteria released by the board two days back. The board has also made a video available on YouTube, http://mh-ssc.ac.in/faq, to explain the marking system.
