“If the VBA gets the numbers, we will support a party or alliance that can form the government in Maharashtra. We will choose power,” he posted on X.

His remarks are seen as a message to both the ruling BJP-led Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

Exit polls have predicted a victory for the BJP-led Mahayuti, though some suggest a close contest.

Maharashtra recorded a voter turnout of 62.05%, according to the Election Commission of India.

The key contest in this election is between the Mahayuti and the MVA. The Mahayuti includes the BJP, Shiv Sena and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), while the MVA comprises the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction).
