Ludhiana Shocker: To Marry Her Lover, Woman Strangles Husband to Death With Dupatta, Claims He Died of Heart Attack; Arrested

Ludhiana, November 11: A 36-year-old woman, Kiran, has been arrested along with her aide, Lovekush, 24, for allegedly strangling her husband, Raj Kumar, to death while he was asleep in Ludhiana, police reported. The crime took place in their home, where Kiran allegedly conspired to kill her husband due to his disapproval of her extramarital relationship with Lovekush, a distant relative of the victim.

Hindustan Times reported that after Raj Kumar’s death, Kiran attempted to cremate his body, claiming he had died of a heart attack. However, Raj Kumar’s brother, Kuldeep Vishwakarma, grew suspicious upon noticing strangulation marks on the body and requested a post-mortem. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was strangulation, leading police to investigate further. Delhi Shocker: Man Stabs 50-Year-Old Mother for ‘Not Allowing’ Him To Shift to Canada for Work.

Upon questioning, Kiran confessed to the murder, explaining that she and Lovekush strangled Raj Kumar with her dupatta while he was asleep. After the murder, she reportedly took the dupatta to a nearby vacant plot, set it on fire, and returned home, pretending to raise an alarm over her husband’s sudden death. Agra Shocker: Man Drinks Mosquito Repellent After Breakup With Girlfriend, UP Police Save Him After He Streams Suicide Attempt on Instagram Live.

CCTV footage obtained by the police showed Kiran leaving her house with a polythene bag containing the dupatta and later returning empty-handed. The police recovered the half-burnt dupatta as evidence from the plot.

Daba station-house officer (SHO) Inspector Nardev Singh confirmed the arrests, stating that Kiran had admitted to planning the murder after Raj Kumar discovered her relationship with Lovekush and objected to it. Both Kiran and Lovekush now face charges of murder as police continue their investigation.
