The British racer’s father was seen hugging Max Verstappen and his dad Jos. The official account of Formula 1 shared the video of the incident on social media and captioned it as, “Pure class.” Lewis Hamilton was in a comfortable position of winning the race and even the title. But in the last throw of dice, it was Max Verstappen who walked away with a win. it was Nicholas Latifi on turn number 14 that led to the restart of the race and Max Verstappen overtook Lewis Hamilton. The race went down the wire and the Red Bull racer went past the chequered flag to obtain his first Formula 1 Championship title. Max Verstappen pitted for new tyres whereas the British racer had pitted early and continued with his worn-out tyres for the last lap. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar and many other netizens supported Hamilton after the controversial decision. Hamilton was consoled by his father and many of his peers too.
