National Conference and Congress of the newly formed INDIA alliance have emerged victorious in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) elections. Both parties combined won 19 seats. Rival Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to bag two seats, while INDP won 1 seat. Congress MP KC Venugopal congratulated all victorious candidates. He also said that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra last year gave people of the region faith in. “Sh. @RahulGandhi ji’s Bharat Jodo Yatra last month across the region has given people of Ladakh and Kargil the faith that the Congress and INDIA have a deep concern about the issues they face, and the need for their democratic sentiments to be given a voice,” KC Venugopal said.
