Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos will soon be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, but in a new interview they reveal they almost didnтАЩt make it to their first.
Appearing on a recent interview for the тАЬDouble DateтАЭ podcast, they recalled a blowout argument they had not long after they wed, in their mid-20s, when Consuelos became so furious he threw her wedding ring out a window.
тАЬWhen we first got married, I think Mark felt like he rushed into it, and maybe he made a mistake and maybe he was regretting it. And he took my wedding ring and threw it out the window,тАЭ Ripa revealed.

тАЬAnd then he turned around, and I said, тАШIтАЩm still here.тАЩ Because I really think he thought in that moment and I would somehowтАж vanish or evaporate. I was like, тАШNow what?’тАЭ she continued.
тАЬI think it was, like, that moment of тАШOh my gosh, she is still here and I just did that horrible thing and sheтАЩs still here. She doesnтАЩt really seem that rattled,’тАЭ added Ripa.
Consuelos admitted that particular move was тАЬnot too smart.тАЭ
However, Ripa also recalled that being the тАЬdefining momentтАЭ when they came face to face with each other as spouses and realized they were committed for the long haul.
тАЬI looked at him and I said, тАШI get it. I get it. IтАЩm young and married, too. IтАЩm scared, too. I get it. This is forever. IтАЩm with you. Now, we have to go find that ring,’тАЭ Ripa said.
тАЬAnd I did,тАЭ said Consuelos.

тАЬI am sure for a lot of people, it would have said, тАШIтАЩm done. That is outrageous. That is crazy behaviour.тАЩ And I understood where it was coming from. It was coming from a place of terror and genuine fear. And тАШOh my god, I have to spend the rest of my life with this woman who does not value time, who is chronically late,’тАЭ Ripa added.
