Lucknow, November 1: In Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district, a man identified as Farukh allegedly drugged and raped a young woman, recording a video of the incident to blackmail her family. Initially, he extorted INR 5 lakh from the family by threatening to release the footage. Out of fear of public shame, the family chose to remain silent.

However, after the woman’s marriage, Farukh resumed blackmailing the family, now demanding an additional Rs 5 lakh in cash and gold jewellery. He threatened to make the obscene video go viral online if his demands were not met. Distressed by the situation, the victim and her brother appealed directly to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking strict action against the accused. Kaushambi Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh confirmed that the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Kadadham police station. “We are aware of the matter concerning the dissemination of an obscene video featuring a young woman in the Kadadham area,” he stated.

“The victim’s family will be contacted, and a formal case will be registered based on their complaint. Every aspect of the case will be thoroughly investigated. After the investigation, the accused will be apprehended, and necessary action will be taken.”
