Actress-politician Kangana Ranaut claimed she was slapped by a female CISF constable during a mandatory security check at Chandigarh airport. The incident was captured in a viral video, while another video depicted a visibly upset Kulwinder Kaur, presumably discussing the incident and recounting Kangana’s remarks on the farmers’ protest. Subsequently, Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel shared a series of posts drawing parallels between the incident involving Mandi MP Kangana and the historical event of ex-PM Indira Gandhi’s assassination. Indira Gandhi was assassinated at her residence in New Delhi by her Sikh bodyguards, an event that triggered the 1984 Sikh massacres. Kangana Ranaut Slapped by Kulwinder Kaur: BJP Leader Says ‘In Signature Khalistani Style CISF Constable Quietly Came From Behind and Hit Me’.

Rangoli Chandel shared a graphic image juxtaposing the representation of ex-PM Indira Gandhi’s assassination with a picture of the CISF constable allegedly involved in slapping Kangana Ranaut. In another post, she wrote, “Suspend karne se isko farak nahi padega…moti rakam aa gayi hogi khalistaniyo se…remand pe lena padega isko… (Suspending her won’t make a difference… (She) must have received a hefty sum from Khalistanis… will have to be taken into custody…”). The incident took place two days after Kangana Ranaut’s win in the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh. She was on her way to Delhi to obtain her parliamentary ID in preparation for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Sunday. Upon arriving in Delhi, she released a video statement expressing, “I am safe but my concern is that terrorism is increasing in Punjab… How do we handle that?”
