In a tragic incident at Kalkaji Mandir, a Class 9 student lost their life due to electrocution on the night between October 2 and 3. According to the Delhi Police, the incident occurred when an electric wire used to install halogen lights for the ongoing Navratri celebrations broke and came into contact with an iron railing, resulting in a fatal accident. One other person sustained injuries from the same electrocution incident, while six others were hurt in a stampede that followed. Fortunately, all of the injured individuals are reported to be out of danger. Authorities quickly responded to the scene, and a case has been registered under sections 289, 125(9), and 106(1) of the BNS. The police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the wire malfunction and whether negligence played a role in the incident. Navratri celebrations at the temple have been ongoing, drawing large crowds, which likely contributed to the stampede after the electrocution occurred.
