J&K police raid 7 locations in connection with terror threat to local journalists | India News

SRINAGAR: Srinagar police on Thursday carried out searches at seven locations in three districts of Kashmir valley тАФ Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama тАФ in connection with a recent online threat to local journalists.
Those who were raided included Asif Maqbool Dar, a resident of Bemina; Ishfaq Ahmad Reshi in Budgam; journalist Saqib Hussain Mughloo, a resident of Lal Bazar in Srinagar; Haji Hayat Ahmad Bhat, owner of English language daily тАШKashmir ReaderтАЩ at Pampore in Pulwama; former journalist Showkat Ahmad Motto, a resident of Lal Bazar in Srinagar; advocate Adnan in Nowgam, Srinagar; and the office of Kashmir Reader in Srinagar.
Mobile phones, CDs and other digital devices, bank papers and other incriminating documents were seized during these raids.
In a tweet, Srinagar police said ThursdayтАЩs raids were conducted after leads received from searches carried out a few days ago.
Police had earlier registered a case against terror handlers, active terrorists and terrorist associates of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its offshoot, The Resistance Front, for online threat to journalists and reporters based in Kashmir.
