Jani Master, ‘Stree 2’ Choreographer, Confesses to Sexual Assault Allegations Following Victim’s Accusation – Reports

Shaik Jani Basha, known as Jani Master, was taken into custody by Cyberabad police in Goa. After his arrest, he was presented before a local court, where a transit warrant was secured. The following day, a city court remanded him to 14-day judicial custody due to allegations of sexually assaulting a female colleague. Recent reports suggest that the choreographer of “Aayi Nai” song from Stree 2 has allegedly confessed to these crimes. However, his wife, Ayesha, has publicly dismissed the allegations made by the victim. In an interview with TV9, she stated, “The complainant said in many TV interviews that she owes her career to Master and is grateful to him. How is it that she has never complained before? And how is it that after being on her own for the last one year, she suddenly surfaces to lodge a complaint against him? I know him very well. His nature is not what is being alleged,” as reported by Firstpost.

The allegations emerged after a fellow choreographer lodged a complaint, claiming that Jani Master sexually assaulted her during a work trip to Mumbai in 2020. The Narsingi Police registered a case against Jani Master under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including provisions related to sexual assault. It was later revealed that the victim was a minor at the time of the alleged offense, prompting the addition of relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
