James Van Der Beek has undergone a hot dad transformation
The 44-year-old father of five has sent fans into a frenzy after posting a photo of himself and some of his kids sitting outside his new ranch.
“Waiting for the rain… Saw the lightning. Heard the thunder. But none of the rain we so sorely need that my weather app said had a 100% chance of falling,” he shared with a series of photos.
“I’ve become very nerdy about water since moving here: Quality, conservation, vitality, usage, dams, rights, run-off… as soon as I can figure out a way to make it interesting to someone other than me I’ll tell you more. Till then… at least we had fun waiting for it.”

Sadly, no one was interested in the weather update. It was all about Dawson’s cut-off tee and the surprising guns!

“Nice gun show playa,” another commented.
And they just kept coming… “Cute dad alert”… “Damn your arm!”

Sorry, HOW many kids does he have?
While he and wife Kimberly have endured a handful of heartbreaking miscarriages, James now spends his time chasing after his five children – and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“The second I had kids, they immediately became my priority and everything I did existed to support the life that was all about them in a good way,” he once told People magazine about giving up acting for fatherhood.
“What’s been fun about the work that I’ve been doing is that it’s so playful and kids bring out that playful side of you, so I think that’s gone hand-in-hand.”
