Ikkis, the biographical war drama starring Agastya Nanda, is set to arrive in the theatres on January 1, 2026. The film is directed by Sriram Raghavan and also stars the late legendary actor Dharmendra in a pivotal role. Ikkis tell the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra (PVC). He was martyred at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Just days before the grand theatrical release, a special screening of the film was hosted in Mumbai. Makers of Agastya Nanda’s Ikkis hosted a grand premiere for the film in Mumbai on Monday (December 29). The screening was a star-studded affair and saw many actors in attendance, including Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Rekha, Naseeruddin Shah and Vijay Varma, among others. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who is receiving praise for his near-perfect casting in Dhurandhar, also graced the premiere.

Mukesh Chhabra has now taken to X (formerly Twitter) to shower praise on Ikkis. In his review, the casting director wrote, “Just watched Ikkis — a film made purely from the heart. Gentle, honest storytelling that stays with you long after it ends. Dharmendra sir… what grace, what depth. If this is your last film, it truly breaks the heart. You’ve left us with something deeply emotional and important. You will be missed, sir. And Jaideep Ahlawat — hats off. I genuinely didn’t expect this, and I’m glad to be surprised.”

He further welcomed Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia to their big-screen journey and lauded their performances, calling them “beautiful.” He also praised their chemistry and specifically appreciated Agastya Nanda’s innocence and sincerity in his performance. Chhabra finally concluded by saying, “A heartfelt film told with honesty.
