New Delhi: The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) has achieved global recognition, with its research team winning the prestigious Innovation Award at the 2024 AMR Surveillance Data Challenge.

The award-winning project, AMROrbit Scorecard, was spearheaded by Prof Tavpritesh Sethi and Jasmin Kaur. It was chosen from 56 entries across 27 countries in the competition sponsored by GARDP, Paratek Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, and Vivli. The challenge sought innovative, data-driven solutions to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a pressing global health crisis.

The AMROrbit scorecard employs a dynamic phase-space model to provide strategic, actionable insights into AMR progression on a global scale. This pioneering tool equips healthcare stakeholders with critical data to mitigate the rise of antibiotic resistance.

Highlighting the urgency of addressing AMR, Prof Sethi said, “This Innovation Award reaffirms the global need for actionable insights and data-driven strategies to combat the escalating threat of AMR.”

Reflecting on the project’s impact, Jasmin Kaur said, “This achievement underscores how research can solve real-world problems and shape impactful policy solutions for critical challenges like AMR.”
