The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2024, celebrating the stellar talents of Indian cinema, was hosted at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi in the UAE. The three-day grand IIFA Festival was held from September 27-29, 2024, starting with the IIFA Utsavam 2024 honouring the best of South Indian films (Tollywood, Mollywood, Kollywood, Sandalwood). Hosted by Rana Daggubati and Teja Sajja, the IIFA Utsavam 2024 event turned out to be a blockbuster with stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, AR Rahman and others making waves with their glamorous presence. Not just them but Bollywood stars, including Ananya Panday, Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon, were in attendance at the star-studded event. IIFA Utsavam Awards 2024 Winners:
Aishwarya Rai won Best Actress (Tamil) for her role in Ponniyin Selvan: II and Vikram won Best Actor (Tamil) for his role in the same film, where he starred opposite the actress. Mani Ratnam clinched Best Director (Tamil) for the film. Nani continued his dominance at the award nights after taking home the Best Actor (Telugu) for his impressive acting in Dasara. The highlight of the night was when Megastar Chiranjeevi was honoured with Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema, which was presented to him by Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi. On the second day i.e. Saturday, September 28, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Vicky Kaushal lit up the stage at the IIFA Awards 2024 with their engaging hosting. We also saw Kriti Sanon, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor and Rekha captivate audiences with their performances.
The IIFA Weekend 2024 concluded on Sunday, September 29, with the IIFA Rocks 2024 musical event headlined by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and the IIFA Technical Awards 2024.
