massive shark attacks Discovery Channel film crew

A huge great white shark attacked a film crew’s boat after they tried attaching a camera to one of the predator’s fins.

The Discovery Channel camera crew were on location off Stewart Island in New Zealand when an enormous shark burst out of the water and tried to sink its razor teeth into their dinghy.

Before the attack the film crew tried to latch a camera to one of the beast’s fin in the hopes of seeing the apex predator’s feeding ground.

Within moments the ferocious creature darted at the vessel and rushed up out of the water and bit down on a rope attaching them to a larger vessel.

The narrator can be heard warning of the dangers if the crew are separated from the main ship.

The shark bit down on the cord three times before diving back into the ocean.

It then whips away with the cord still between its jaws, dragging the flimsy boat behind it. The shark looks like it is swimming off but then returns.

A member of the crew Andy Casagrande begins to explain what just happened.

But as he does, someone can be heard yelling: “Andy! Andy! Andy!”

The man then points to a shark circling the boat, slipping underneath, and attacking a buoy close by.

This time, the aggressive great white is joined by another shark and they both started smashing into the boat.

A voice can be heard questioning the film crew’s decision to record so close to the feeding ground.

The shark swam off, but then returned with an equally aggressive friend

“I don’t think this is such a brilliant f***** idea you know,” a voice says. “I don’t think we can have a boat in there. I really don’t.”

Thankfully, the sharks grew bored and the camera crew escaped without injury.

Shark activists believe the fish thought the crew had food to give them.

Experts say the creatures are becoming more confident around boats because of cage diving, ABC news reports.

Last week sunseekers were banned from swimming at several Spanish holiday beaches popular with Brits after a shark sighting.

A police diver spotted the predator near the shore off Playa Del Portet beach in Teulada on the Costa Blanca during a routine dive, with the force issuing a warning to town hall chiefs.

The ban, which came in on Saturday, affects beaches in the municipality between Valencia and Alicante, which includes the small coastal town of Moraira.

A spokesman for the local authority confirmed a Civil Guard diver raised the alarm and that until further notice “the red flag will be put on all the beaches”.

тАЬThe Civil Guard and National Police are investigating to see what type of shark it is and the level of danger it poses,” they continued.
