Assumptions in relationships can have negative impact. Often in serious situations, we do not ask for clarification – instead we assume things and overthink and that leads to more negative thoughts. However, this can be stopped before it starts to stem out. Instead of assuming or having our own versions of a situation, we should directly ask for clarification from our partners.
