RACE 4
Five of Baiyka’s her seven starts have been here at home; this is where her lone win so far is as well as two of the three placings. You just could not have hoped for a nicer trial from her and beating a horse that won on Sunday to boot. Last Chance Dance has raced 21 times for three wins, 11 placings and eight of those are seconds. That’s a long way of saying that she should be in the medals here. Isalute’s chances went up when he drew barrier 1

RACE 5
Taketheshot has always shown ability which is respected in his record. In many ways, you really have to mark this horse ‘up’ given that he has been deadset cursed when it comes to barrier draws. Ah, but not on Tuesday – box two and Robert Thompson! Fifteen Rounds has just one win from 17 starts on the C.V but he was good last prep in rock solid company. He ran enormous first-up here on Cup Day too. A Room Somewhere can never be ruled out.

RACE 6
Lasting Grace is a fairly-lightly-raced and promising type. The Kristen Buchanan-trained mare who was an easy and impressive first-up winner at Tuncurry over 1040m on May 15. Barrier 1 and the 1.5kg off for a very good jockey in Dylan Gibbons is a real lure. Holy Empress is down in class – big time – from the Dark Jewel to a benchmark 58. When circumstances permit, she can launch. Wyong pair Hidden Hills and Sapphires Son are in the mix.

RACE 7
Keen to see what Dawn Flight can deliver here at her first run of the new campaign. The Jarrod Austin-trained filly raced three times at her first prep, all at Orange, and each one better than the last. She finished third to Eduardo in a trial at home and does look to have come back well. Chaready is quite the obstacle given he is a last start winner here on Cup Day in fact. On the up. From The Hip and Manangatang are also last start winners in contention.

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR SAPPHIRE COAST
RACE 4
Hard Core went for a holiday after winning the Tumut Cup on February 13 but sadly didn’t really get to show himself to his full potential when he resumed at Wagga on May 7 when racing in restricted room from an inside draw. Loves this venue. Mr Magical is another one who races well at the Sapphire Coast. On top of that, he is a last start winner – drawn a peach of a gate too. Hay Bale won the Bordertown Cup on February 8, spelled, and trialled up well recently.
Bet: Hard Core to win, quinella 4,5
RACE 5
Face The Day has drawn 13 of 13 here and has the equal topweight which is hard to cop on face value but he has been good all the way through this campaign. Apart from the weight and the draw (bearing in mind, he gets back), he still has to fancied. Rangarush went 14 starts without winning but the good news is that he won start 15 which also happened to be over this same track and distance. Huge player. Nothing Compares is fitter and suited by the mile second-up.

RACE 6
Upper House has 10 times and placed 10 times from his 50 starts. That is a formidable strike-rate by any measure. This is going to be his last run of the campaign and it’s almost certainly the weakest race he has contested for a long while. Magico Hombre has raced here three times and won twice. He too has been going around in some pretty hot races, rival wise, and run well, sometimes better than it looks on paper. The best of Scarleo would be good enough to get into the medals.
Bet: Upper House to win, exacta/quinella 1, 6
RACE 7
Kathaire has raced 38 times and if you couple up her wins with her placings, it comes to 17 which is close to a 50 per cent ROI for each-way punters which is the only way to go with her now owing to her wide gate. That Queen Of The South run surely has to count for something here. Roman Candle ran fourth at Scone at his last run for Paul Perry. This is his first outing for Nick Olive who has found a lovely race for him. Legislation is a terrific hope.
