Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says it is “highly likely” NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet will become premier following Gladys Berejiklian’s resignation from the position after an ICAC inquiry was announced.
“I think there’s a bit to play out here – he (Perrottet) has to prove to his colleagues he’s not wedded to Matt Kean, the junior in that potential partnership,” Mr Clennell said.
“He has to demonstrate to the moderate faction, who are the vast majority of the party room, that he’s not the right-winger he’s being portrayed as.”
