Ford accelerates rollout of direct sales outlets for Mustang Mach-E

Ford is speeding up the establishment of a direct sales network in China for the locally produced Mustang Mach-E electric crossover, with five more stores opening on July 17. 

The newest stores are in five cities – Beijing, Chengdu, Qingdao, Shenzhen and Dongguan, according to Ford China.

The first Mustang Mach-E store opened in Shanghai on May 16. Prior to July 17, Ford added another store in Shanghai and launched its first stores in two other cities, Suzhou and Chongqing.

Ford plans to open 23 direct stores in China for the electric crossover by year-end. 

The Mustang Mach-E is assembled at Changan Ford, Ford’s passenger vehicle joint venture with Changan Automobile Co. 

It is the second full-electric vehicle the Ford brand produces in China, following the battery version of the Territory compact crossover

Ford will start taking orders for the Mustang Mach-E in the fall with customer deliveries beginning at the end of the year, according to Ford China.
