Extortion Case: Ex-Air Force Woman Sent To Judicial Remand After Madhya Pradesh HC Denies Bail | Representative Image
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal district and sessions court on Monday sent an ex-Air force contractual worker to judicial remand after the High Court rejected her anticipatory bail. The woman was booked for extorting Rs 4.36 lakh from an Air Force man under sections 294, 384, 386, 388, 506 of IPC which carried a penalty of 10 years of imprisonment.
The woman, a contractual worker with the Air force wing in Bhopal had met Telangana resident Sharath Kunru, an Air Force personnel, at a wedding reception. The woman had charged Kunru with rape, while the man had filed a police complaint against the woman accusing her of extorting Rs 4.36 lakh and threatening him.
The woman in her rape complaint against Kunru had stated that on October 20, 2020, she had gone to attend her colleague’s son where she met Kunjru. The man allegedly took her to his room and sexually assaulted her. The woman had later left her job and joined some showroom.
Advocate Yawar Khan had approached court on behalf of Kunru. Sukhisewania police station had registered a case of extortion against the woman.
Khan argued before court that Sharath Kunru was in his village Warangal from October 16, 2020 to October 26, 2020. Khan presented train reservation tickets and call locations of his stay in Telangana to prove that the rape allegations filed by the woman were false.
The lawyer also claimed that the woman threatened to kill Kunru and sent several threatening and abusive messages. He further proved that the woman extorted Rs 4.36 lakh from Sharath Kunru on different occasions through her associates by threatening to kill him.
Judicial Magistrate First Class Bhopal had sent the complaint to Sukhi Sewania Police Station for action. The High Court rejected her anticipatory bail plea and on Monday she was arrested and sent to judicial remand. Investigation is underway on the rape charges leveled against Kunru, the advocate added.
