A driver turned the tables on would-be thieves, spraying them with petrol to prevent them from stealing his car.
CCTV footage shows the man filling up his car at a petrol station when a white van pulls up at speed and comes to a stop next to his vehicle.
As three hooded men jump out at him, the man begins to spray them with petrol, fearing he was about to be robbed or attacked.
One is sprayed as he runs around the side of the car and approaches the man, and he quickly turns and runs back to the van.
The van begins to pull away as the driver sprays petrol into the open side door, and the three hooded scramble to get back inside.
Footage of the incident was posted on the website Reddit.
It is thought that the incident occurred in Chile.
It is not known what happened after the footage was recorded.

The video emerged this week, though it was unclear when the incident happened.
Reddit and YouTube users hailed the driver for his actions.
One wrote: “Thieves: let’s Rob this old chap. Old chap: You guys need a shower.”
Another added: “This happens when you use your brain at 100%.”
And a third wrote: “I just love watching this. That’s what they get!”
