“I didn’t really write a grandiose speech about how to make it work or what it took,” said Drake during his humble acceptance speech.
“To be honest with you, I don’t quite understand it myself but I just know that I’ve spent an incalculable amount of hours trying to analyze all the things I did wrong.”
The Canadian superstar added, “But tonight, for once, I’m sure as hell we done something right.”
Drake’s mom, Sandi Graham, was also on stage to watch the special moment.
According to TMZ, Graham rarely makes public appearances. However, Billboard‘s Artist of the Decade Award isn’t any old award; past recipients have included Eminem, who won for the 2000s, and Mariah Carey, winner for the 1990s.
