‘Donate My Organs to the Needy’: Andhra Pradesh Girl Kills Self Day After Freshers’ Day Celebrations, Asks Parents To Stop Fighting in ‘Suicide’ Note
Mumbai, September 29:┬аIn an unfortunate incident that took place in Andhra Pradesh, a 16-year-old girl allegedly ended her life in Patapatnam town. The shocking incident occurred a day after the teenage girl attended Freshers’ Day celebrations at her college. The intermediate first-year student reportedly died by suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her residence in Patapatnam town.
According to a report in the Times of India, the deceased has been identified as Gummadi Sravani. After the incident came to light, the police recovered a suicide note in which the girl asked her parents to stop fighting with each other. Police officials said that marital problems between her parents – father Srinu (44) and her mother Lakshmi (39) could have led the minor girl to take the drastic step. An officer privy to the case said that Sravan had recently been admitted to a private college in Patapatnam. The situation at her home was turbulent as her father was addicted to alcohol.
Officials learned that the deceased’s father used to spend his day’s earnings on liquor and later used to fight and beat up his wife. The teenager’s mother used to sell coconut bonda in order to run the house and take care of her children’s education. In her suicide note, Sravani said that she loved her mother a lot but decided to end her life as she felt it was “inevitable”. The minor girl wanted her parents to stop fighting and live happily together. “DonтАЩt waste money on my final rites. Donate my organs to the needy,” Sravani wrote in the letter. Patapatnam sub-inspector Mohammad Yaseen said that by the time the suicide note was found, Sravani’s last rites were over.
