An employee involved in the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project was fired after claiming that rats caused a section of the road to collapse in Rajasthan’s Dausa district. The employee, who had no technical expertise, falsely claimed to be the Maintenance Manager and attributed the road damage to rats digging holes, allowing water to seep through. KCC Buildcon, the firm responsible for the project, clarified in a letter to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) that the employee’s comments were baseless, and he was terminated. According to the project director, the road caved in due to a water leak, and repairs were promptly made. The expressway is 80% complete, with full completion expected within a year.
