Dating App Scam in Delhi: Woman Dupes Man by Ordering ‘Feast’ Worth INR 16,000, ‘Vanishes’ From Cafe After Faking Call

Delhi, October 1: With the rise in dating app scams, yet another incident has surfaced. A man in Delhi was duped out of INR 16,000 during a date when a woman he met online cleverly manipulated him into ordering a feast from the menu. After indulging in the lavish spread, she made a swift exit, leaving him with a hefty bill. The man recounted his experience on Reddit, shedding light on the growing issue of scams in the online dating world.

On a dating app, a man matched with a girl who insisted on meeting in a public place. She directed him to Hudson Lane, just outside Bagheera Cafe. When they met outside the cafe and entered, he immediately sensed something was off. As he later recounted, “As soon as I walked in, I had a bad feeling.” The situation quickly escalated into a short horror story. After the waiter handed them the menu, the woman asked to order a king-size hookah, which he declined, explaining that he didn’t smoke and didn’t want to be there. Tinder Date Goes Wrong in Delhi: Civil Service Aspirant Forced To Pay INR 1.2 Lakh Bill at Black Mirror Cafe After Woman He Met on Dating App Leaves ‘Abruptly’, One Arrested.

Moments later, she excused herself to use the restroom but instead slipped away to the fire escape area. Upon her return, the waiter unexpectedly brought her a hookah, vodka shots, and a chicken starter, leaving him bewildered and increasingly suspicious. Dating Apps Scam: 46-Year-Old Businessman Duped Twice by 2 Women He Met on Different Dating Apps in Mumbai, Loses INR 2 Crore; Probe Launched.

She then pretended to receive phone calls from home, claiming she had a headache and left the restaurant in a hurry. “She said she needed to leave within less than ten minutes, and before I could react, she was gone,” he recounted. Shortly after, the real scam unfolded. The waiter presented him with a bill for Rs 17,170. When he inquired about a discount, the waiter only offered a 10 per cent reduction on food items, leaving him to pay Rs 16,000. When he attempted to use his card, he was informed of an additional 4 per cent charge, forcing him to pay in cash.

The man returned to the same location with a friend, only to spot the same girl with another man. When they attempted to enter the cafe, security stopped them, revealing that they were aware the girl was defrauding other patrons. “I lost Rs 16,000 and don’t know how to get my money back,” he lamented.
