Dancing For The Devil – The 7M TikTok Cult: All You Need to Know About Docuseries and Where to Watch It Online!

Netflix’s latest three-episode series, Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, delves deep into the alleged cult-like environment that TikTok dancers affiliated with 7M Films purportedly faced. As you immerse yourself in this gripping docuseries, it’s natural for questions to arise, particularly regarding key figures like Robert Shinn and Miranda Wilking. The show predominantly centres on the narratives of two sets of sisters who were associated with Shinn—social media influencers Melanie Wilking and Miranda Derrick (formerly Wilking), and Melanie and Priscylla Lee. What Is The Series About?

Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult is a disturbing story of a seemingly ordinary talent management company. Founded by Robert Shinn, a pastor at the Shekinah church, 7M Films is accused of being a cult front.

The series exposes Shinn’s alleged manipulation and abuse through the experiences of former members. It follows two sets of sisters who became entangled with Shinn: social media influencers Melanie Wilking and Miranda Derrick (formerly Wilking), and the Lee sisters, who joined Shinn’s church as young immigrants. The documentary explores the blurred lines between church and company, culminating in a desperate attempt by Melanie Wilking and her family to rescue Miranda in a viral 2022 Instagram Live. This act sparked media investigations and empowered other former members to come forward. Wolfs Trailer: Brad Pitt and George Clooney Reunite After 16 Years To Unleash Chaos in Jon Watts’ Action Comedy (Watch Video).

Why Did 7M Members Have To Cut Off Their Families?

According to interviews with ex-members and recordings of leader Shane Shinn’s sermons, a disturbing practice existed within the 7M group. Members were instructed to undergo a form of self-abnegation called “dying to” themselves and their families. This meant severing all contact with loved ones, believing it to be a necessary sacrifice to ensure their (and their families’) eternal salvation.

The concept was twisted. One former member, featured in Dancing for the Devil, explained “dying to yourself” as surrendering personal desires and needs. They believed these desires would eventually return, stronger, after the metaphorical death.
