CRPF Seeks Report After Videos of Eunuchs Dancing at Raising Day Ceremony in Nainital Goes Viral

Nainital, January 17: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has ordered an enquiry after a video of eunuchs dancing on salacious Bollywood numbers on stage at the paramilitary’s Raising Day ceremony. The incident took place at Kathgodam Group Centre in Uttarakhand’s Nainital in October last year.

The CRPF has sought a report from the deputy inspector-general, of the Kathgodam group centre, after several videos of the dance sequences got circulated on WhatsApp and other social media platforms. The report must include reasons which prompted the DIG, Group Centre of CRPF at Kathgodam, to permit members of the Binny Dance Academy to perform during a ceremonial function of the Force, the IG stated. “There is nothing wrong with eunuchs performing at a cultural programme on Raising Day. Eunuchs are also a part of the society… There was nothing vulgar in their performance that day. Everything will be clear once the report is submitted,” reported the Times of India, quoting a CRPF officer from Kathgodam who requested anonymity. The Raising Day ceremony was held on October 13-14 last year at the CRPF facility.
