With 290 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll has jumped to 4,46,658.
In a sigh of relief, India’s active caseload has declined to 3,01,442. The active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.90%.
At 97.78%, the recovery rate is the highest since March 2020. In the last 24 hours, 28,046 more people recovered from Covid, taking the total recoveries to 32,815,731.
The weekly positivity rate is 1.99%, less than 3% for last 92 days. The daily positivity rate is 2.09%, which is less than 3% for last 24 days, according to the ministry.
So far, 56.16 crore total samples have been tested to detect Covid-19. Under the nationwide vaccination program, that started on January 16 this year, 84.89 crore vaccine doses have been administered to date.
