COVID concerns at Liverpool and Westmead hospitals

There are concerns of a COVID outbreak at two Sydney hospitals after a pregnant mother and a nurse working in a COVID ward both tested positive.

Liverpool Hospital is being deep cleaned and dozens of staff are in isolation awaiting test results after a pregnant woman tested positive shortly after undergoing a caesarean section.

As a result, all non-emergency procedures have been postponed.

A fully vaccinated nurse who worked in the COVID ward at Westmead Hospital has also tested positive for the virus.
