Coromandel Express derails in Odisha’s Balasore district; many trapped, rescue ops on: What we know so far | India News

NEW DELHI: Several passengers are feared dead and hundreds may be trapped after six bogies of the Chennai-Howrah Coromandel Express derailed near Bahanaga station in Odisha’s Balasore on Friday.
CPRO Southern Railway officials said the express train collided with a goods train.
“Teams have left for the spot for search and rescue operation,” officials said, adding the Balasore Collector has been directed to reach the spot to make all necessary arrangements and intimate concerned officials if any additional help is required from the state level.
