Mumbai, August 2: Citroen has officially unveiled the production-spec Basalt Coupe-SUV in the Indian market. The price for Citroen’s latest offering in the compact SUV segment will be announced in the coming days. Once launched, Citroen Basalt will take on the upcoming Tata Curvv that arrives in India on August 7. It is the fourth product under the carmaker’s C-Cubed programme and shares underpinning with the C3 Aircross.
Aesthetically, the Citroen Basalt carries design and styling elements from the concept model. The production model now gets slightly smaller 16-inch alloy wheels than the concept version showcased with chunky ones. Nissan X-Trail 7-Seater SUV Launched in India.

The Citroen Basalt will come in seven colours – five single-tone and two dual-tone options. It includes – Polar White, Steel Grey, Platinum Grey, Garnet Red, Cosmo Blue, White with black roof and Red with black roof.
The cabin of the Coupe-SUV is inspired by the Aircross C3, featuring a well-laid dashboard design with dual-tone treatment. It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument unit, a 15-watt wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and connected car tech. Citroen will offer the Basalt in two engines. The former is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol making 81 bhp and 115 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The latter is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit generating 108 bhp and 195 Nm of peak torque (210 Nm in automatic version). It will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
