Parts of Chennai witnessed heavy rains on Tuesday, November 12, leading to waterlogging in areas like Perungudi. Pedestrians navigated waterlogged streets with umbrellas as rainfall intensified across the city. In response, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin confirmed that the Greater Chennai Corporation has set up 329 relief camps and opened 120 public kitchens to support affected residents. “As of 9:30 am, there is no significant waterlogging in Chennai, and we are taking steps to keep the situation under control,” he said, adding that corporation officials, ministers, and the mayor are actively monitoring conditions.
