Chennai, October 12: A 24-year-old Chennai man who has been identified as R Prashanth was arrested by the special police team for selling porn video clips of minor girls for a price by the Avadi police. The arrested man is a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering student and resides in Chinna Sekkadu near Manali.
The case came to light after the Telangana DGP, Dr Jitender, forwarded a message to the Tamil Nadu DGP, Shankar Jiwal, about the circulation of porn videos featuring minor girls. Thane Shocker: Man Shows Porn Video to Minor Girl in Public Toilet in Ambernath, Arrested for Sexual Harassment.
The message was passed to the Avadi police, and the Additional Director-General of Police (ADGP), K Shankar, instructed the police team to track the suspect. The team apprehended Prashanth. According to a TOI report, the accused Prashanth opened a handle on Telegram as ‘Mr Invisible’ and offered porn videos of minor girls for Rs 100 and Rs 200. He was selling 99 porn video clips of minor girls at the cost of Rs 100 and 1,000 videos for Rs 200. Police tracked him after he advertised it through an online platform.
The Avadi cybercrime wing police arrested Prashanth, and he was remanded in judicial custody after being produced before a Magistrate Court in the city.
In another incident, a 43-year-old sales executive has been arrested on charges that he inappropriately touched a woman passenger sitting in the seat in front of him on a Delhi-Chennai IndiGo flight on Wednesday, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday.
“The woman has registered a complaint that she was in a window seat and while she was asleep, the accused who was sitting behind her – also in the window seat – touched her inappropriately,” said an officer at the All Women’s Police Station attached to the airport in Meenambakkam.
