Canada’s Jack Crawford raced to a World Cup victory on the famed Streif course in Kitzbuhel, Austria, on Saturday.
The Toronto native crossed the line in one minute 53.64 seconds to take the win, his first World Cup downhill victory.
Fellow Canadian Cam Alexander, of North Vancouver, B.C., was 0.22 behind Crawford to take bronze. Switzerland’s Alexis Monney rounded out the podium in second place.
The last Canadian to win the World Cup downhill in Kitzbuhel was Todd Brooker in 1983.
More to come.
