Canada’s economy added 150,000 jobs in January, blowing past expectations for the second month in a row.

Canada’s economy added 150,000 jobs in January, blowing past expectations for the second month in a row.
Statistics Canada reported Friday that most of the jobs — more than 120,000 — were of the full-time variety.
They were mostly in the private sector, too, which added 115,000 positions. The public sector expanded by 32,000 jobs.
Most of the jobs were added in Ontario and Quebec, but just about every province gained.
The jobless rate held steady at five per cent, just shy of the record low of 4.9 per cent it hit last summer.
