A car has hit a tree and burst into flames after a police pursuit in Sydney’s north.
Police officers smashed the windows to get the five people in the vehicle out after the crash in Cammeray at 4.40pm.
All of them were injured and were rushed to hospitals in serious or critical conditions, NSW Police said.
Police said they had started chasing the car, but had stopped the pursuit shortly before the crash.
A critical incident investigation has been launched by NSW Police.
The investigation will be subject to independent review.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
