Cairns starts three-day snap lockdown

Residents of Cairns are waking up to day one of a three-day lockdown after a taxi driver contracted COVID-19.

People must stay at home unless shopping for essential items, essential work, exercise and healthcare.

Queensland health authorities are investigating the 60-year-old man’s source of infection.

Contact tracing is underway after he was infectious in the community for 10-days and multiple locations are considered exposure sites.
