Britney Spears┬аsays she wants to get married and have another baby, but alleged via a┬аvirtual court appearance┬аthat┬аstill being in a conservatorship┬аhas prevented her from making those dreams┬аa reality.
The 39-year-old singer addressed the Los Angeles court directly on Wednesday, giving an┬аimpassioned speech about her frustrations┬аwith the┬аterms of her┬аongoing conservatorship battle. Britney is currently dating┬аSam Asghari. She shares two children тАФ sons Sean, 15, and Jayden, 14 тАФ with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Addressing the court over the phone, Britney requested to┬аend the years-long conservatorship┬аwithout having to be evaluated, stating, тАЬI would like to move progressively forward.┬аI want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby.тАЭ
тАЬI was told right now, in the conservatorship, IтАЩm not able to get married or have a baby. I have an IUD [intrauterine device] inside of myself right now so I donтАЩt get pregnant,тАЭ she said. тАЬI wanted to take the IUD out, so I can start trying to have a baby. But this so-called team wonтАЩt let me go to the doctor to take it out, because they donтАЩt want me to have children, any more children.тАЭ
тАЬSo, basically, this conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life. I worked my whole life, and I deserve to have a two, three-year break and just do what I want to do,тАЭ she added. тАЬI wish I could stay with you on the phone forever, because when I get off the phone with you, all of a sudden all I hear are noтАЩs.┬атАШNo, no, no.’тАЭ
Britney continued on, telling the court, тАЬI feel ganged up on, I feel bullied, and I feel left out and alone.тАЭ
тАЬIтАЩm tired of feeling alone,тАЭ she admitted. тАЬI deserve to have the same rights as anybody does by having a child, a family, any of those things. And more so.тАЭ
Earlier in her speech, Britney said sheтАЩs тАЬnot here to be anyoneтАЩs slave.тАЭ
тАЬIтАЩm so angry I canтАЩt sleep, and I am depressed,тАЭ she admitted. тАЬI want to be heard тАж I want changes and I want changes going forward. I deserve changes.тАЭ
тАЬI just want my life back. ItтАЩs been 13 years and itтАЩs enough. ItтАЩs enough and it makes no sense at all тАж IтАЩm done,тАЭ she said, accusing her father, Jamie Spears, and those involved in her conservatorship of тАЬcriminalтАЭ behaviour. тАЬI want to sue my family, to be totally honest with you.тАЭ
BritneyтАЩs father┬аhas been a part of the conservatorship since the beginning, but Britney and her court-appointed attorney┬аhave been fighting for a while now to get him removed. тАЬHe is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain,тАЭ JamieтАЩs lawyer┬аsaid on Wednesday. тАЬMr.┬аSpears loves his daughter and misses her very much.тАЭ
Ahead of WednesdayтАЩs hearing, Sam┬аtook to Instagram Stories to┬аshare his support┬аfor his girlfriend on her big day. The fitness guru┬аshared a photo of himself┬аrocking a T-shirt with the words тАЬFree BritneyтАЭ┬аpainted in pink-and-purple writing.┬аSam also added a lion emoji at the top of the selfie,┬аsymbolizing the тАЬlionessтАЭ nickname he often uses in his posts about Britney.
The shirt he rocked is in support of the #FreeBritney movement, a hashtag that was created by fans and is used by those who claim that Britney is┬аbeing held against her will, and is trying to call for help┬аthrough her social media posts.
The New York Times┬аreported earlier this week that they obtained┬аconfidential court records┬аthat revealed Britney┬аhas┬аquietly been pushing┬аfor years to┬аend her conservatorship. According to the outlet, Britney expressed┬атАЬserious opposition to the conservatorship earlier and more often than had previously been knownтАЭ in the court records,┬аand claimed that┬аit restricted everything from тАЬwhom she dated to the colour of her kitchen cabinets.тАЭ
