Brit woman murdered in Pakistan may have died out of ‘revenge for other attack’ – World News

A British woman who was murdered in Pakistan may have died out of revenge for another attack, it has been claimed.

Lahore Police are reportedly investigating links between the victim and the second suspect in the murder of Mayra Zulfiqar.

Reports emerged that Mayra may have had a relationship with Zahir Jadoon and arranged to have him attacked after their relationship ended.

It is believed that images reportedly showing Zahir Jadoon naked and bruised were uploaded to social media before Mayra’s death.

There have been claims that the photos may have been a contributing factor in her killing.

It has also been reported that 15 days before her murder, the British visited her local police station to report Saad Ameer Butt, 29, for harassment.

She allegedly claimed that she felt her life was in danger after the prime suspect in her murder, Butt, had forced her to get into a car with him at gunpoint where he eventually threatened her life.

Despite these claims, there was no report filed by police in the Defence area of Lahore.

These claims have been reported by Pakistan’s major broadcasting channel, Geo Tv, as well as being made public by police sources.

Photos of the second suspect have also emerged, with reports suggesting he was allegedly “in a relationship” with the victim.

Twenty-four-year-old Mayra, also identified as Mahira, from Feltham, southwest London, was killed after four men allegedly broke into her home in Lahore, Punjab, and shot her.

Her body was found on Monday, May 7, in a house she was sharing with a friend.

The prime suspect has been identified as Butt with police still on the hunt for Zahir Jadoon, the second suspect who is currently missing.

New information has come to light that suggests Jadoon was in a relationship with Mayra, along with an image of the pair posing together.

A different image has also been shared of Jadoon, standing in front of a black car, wearing a green jacket and jeans.

Mayra moved to Pakistan a year ago after attending a friend’s wedding in the country and deciding to stay.

Jadoon is said to have been staying at the upper portion of the house, which was reportedly adjacent to her room.

Images and video footage have also emerged of the victim, including a yearbook from Middlesex University in London, which she attended.

According to a quote included in the book, Mayra had dreams of becoming a solicitor and received a scholarship.

“I completed my first year at Middlesex in London and have now transferred to the Dubai campus for my second year,” Mayra wrote in 2016.

“This scholarship will help me during my time in Dubai to buy recommended books from my lecturers.

“My goal is to become a practising solicitor in a good law firm after I complete my education.”

Video footage also shows Mayra posing with Shahid Afridi, a veteran Pakistan cricketer and former captain, as well as Fawad Khan, a Pakistani actor.

According to Lahore police, Butt is the prime accused in the case, however they are still interested in Jadoon, who is an Islamabad resident.

The postmortem report is underway and police have collected further evidence to investigate the case from other angles.
