BJP indulging in ‘satta jihad’: Uddhav Thackeray at Dussehra rally

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray Saturday said once MVA govt is elected, he will scrap the Dharavi Redevelopment Project contract and ensure Mumbai is not looted through the project. Uddhav was addressing his party’s annual Dussehra rally at Dadar’s Shivaji Park.
Mimicking PM Modi on his comments that Congress will appropriate ‘mangalsutras’ of women and give them to those with more children, Uddhav said he won’t let people’s mangalsutra be given to Adani group nor let Adani tie his mangalsutra on Maharashtra. He took a dig at BJP, saying while it has accused opposition of ‘vote jihad’, it was indulging in ‘satta (power) jihad’ as it wanted power at any cost. Uddhav advised CJI DY Chandrachud, saying, “If you want to make your name in history, then now is the time to save democracy”. He said the CJI must give a decision (on the Shiv Sena MLAs disqualification case).
Uddhav said home minister Amit Shah said they wanted 100% BJP (in Maharashtra) in 2029, which meant BJP has already written the expiry date of Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. In a dig at Ajit, Uddhav said it has come to light that the scammers of Rs 70,000 crore are also going to come out (of Mahayuti) in shame. They are also feeling ashamed of the massive corruption of this govt, he said.
