Several areas in Bengaluru are set to face power cuts this weekend, i.e. from Friday to next Monday. The city’s electricity board, BESCOM – Bangalore Electricity Supply Company – has scheduled some pending periodical works during this time.
These include smart city work, gap crossing, interlinking and Jalasiri water supply work. Most of these will be carried out between 10am to 4pm, resulting in around six-hour power outages. The BESCOM schedules maintenance and repair projects frequently in the Karnataka capital and looks to cash in on weekends especially when employees sign off from work and the load will be significantly lighter on the grid.
The Davanagere BESCOM circle and division will be affected on Friday, Saturday and Monday. Here is a day-by-day list of areas that might see power cuts:
