Bengaluru, November 5: In a shocking incident, a final-year BCom student, R Puneeth, was brutally beaten to death with a wooden log at a farmhouse during Diwali celebrations in Ramanagara. The 22-year-old, who had gone to the farmhouse in Chikkenahalli with friends, was attacked after he and his companions confronted three men who had forcefully entered the property and began recording videos of the girls playing in the swimming pool. The police have since arrested three suspects in connection with the case.
According to a Times of India report, the incident occurred on the night of October 26, when Puneeth, along with his friends, including two girls, was enjoying the festivities at the farmhouse owned by a relative of his friend Ankith. The group was singing and preparing dinner when three unidentified men barged in, claiming they were locals and questioning who had given permission for the gathering. Tensions escalated as the men began filming the girls, prompting Puneeth and his friends to voice their objections. In a shocking turn of events, the intruders responded with aggression, attacking Puneeth and his friends with wooden logs. Witnesses reported that Puneeth sustained severe head injuries during the assault and subsequently lost consciousness. His friends attempted to transport him to a hospital nearby, but the attackers continued to assault them, further complicating their efforts. Following the brutal attack, Puneeth was taken to a hospital near Kengeri, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment on October 31. Following Puneeth’s death, his friends filed a complaint with the police. Following an investigation, the Ramanagara police arrested three suspects, identified as Murali, Chandu, and Nagesh, who are currently in judicial custody.
