Bengaluru Shocker: 21-Year-Old Student Records Videos of Women Inside Restroom of ACS College of Engineering, Circulates Them on Social Media; Arrested

Bengaluru, September 21: A 21-year-old final-year BTech student in Bengaluru was arrested on Friday for allegedly filming women inside the restroom at ACS College of Engineering in Kumbalgodu and circulating the videos on social media. The suspect, Kushal K, a computer science student from Chikkagollarahatti near Magadi, was caught after a female student noticed his mobile phone near a restroom cubicle and raised an alarm.

According to a report in India Today, the incident took place around 10:45 am when most students were in class. After hearing the student’s scream, her classmates rushed to the scene. They found one restroom door locked and, suspecting something wrong, forced it open to discover Kushal inside. His phone was confiscated by students, who then brought him to the principal. As word of the incident spread, hundreds of students exited their classrooms to protest, demanding strict action. Two police platoons arrived at the college to control the unrest. A preliminary investigation revealed that Kushal had recorded two videos between 10:30 and 10:45 am. Police are planning a full forensic analysis of the phone. Authorities also noted that a notification sound from the phone led students to discover the hidden camera.

An FIR was filed under Section 77 of the BNS Act, addressing voyeurism and violations of women’s privacy. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities promising to pursue severe legal action. The case has sparked outrage among students, many of whom are demanding further safeguards against such incidents.
