Shivamogga, September 25: A woman in Karnataka’s Bengaluru allegedly assaulted a security guard at an ATM branch on Tuesday. The incident occurred after the security guard referred to her as “aunty” while asking her to move aside and make way for other customers. Reports said the woman had just withdrawn cash from the ATM and stood near the cabin’s entrance. The police are currently investigating the matter.
According to the report published by the News18, the woman, identified as Ashwini, allegedly assaulted a security guard named Krishnaiah at an ATM branch on September 19. According to the police, Ashwini had just withdrawn cash from the machine and was standing near the door when Krishnaiah was attempting to clear the path for other customers. As per the eyewitnesses, the security guard asked the woman to move aside, referring to her as “aunty”. This apparently infuriated her, leading her to hit him with her slipper and slap him. The incident was reported to the police by other customers present at the ATM. The police mentioned that the woman, Ashwini, may have been dealing with health issues. Krishnaiah, the security guard, filed a complaint against Ashwini at Malleswaram police station, following which a case was registered against her. Despite the blows, the security guard did not sustain any injuries, as stated in the report. The woman is currently out on bail. Last month, the police in Bengaluru arrested a man on Sunday for allegedly beating his live-in partner to death with a pressure cooker. Deva, a 24-year-old man from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, used to share a rented flat in Bengaluru’s MICO Layout with his partner Vaishnav, who was from Kollam in Kerala. The couple had been living together for two years. “They had an argument, and he hit her with a pressure cooker. We have registered an IPC Section 302 case (murder),” a senior police officer attached to the case said.
