An FIR has been registered against some unidentified people for allegedly putting up banners carrying photographs of dreaded gangster Nilesh Ghaiwal illegally along a road which falls under the jurisdiction of the Hinjewadi police station, said officials on Friday.
Based on a complaint filed by Nilesh Gholap, an officer at the Kothrud-Bavdhan ward office of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the FIR was registered at the Hinjewadi police station.
Police have booked several members of the Nileshbhau Ghaiwal Youth Foundation and two others under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, said officials.
